Mr. Barrero has always demonstrated a passion community involvement. Mr. Barrero has 20 years of experience working with HUD on Moderate Rehab and Section 8 contracts in South Florida as the Vice President of Mar-Bar, Inc.- an organization that provides affordable housing for very low and low income families.
Keeping in step with his entrepreneurial spirit and love of technology, Joseph formed one of the first local Internet Service Providers in Miami, Florida called Expert.Net, Inc. Following the success of Expert.Net, Joseph quickly found success in the technology sector while working as the Director of Technology for Cybear, Inc., a subsidiary of Andrx Pharmaceuticals (ADRX), and as the Chief Technology Officer for Sweepsclub.Com, a company that would later be transformed as the marketing arm for Equifax, Inc.
As a founder and CEO of Cornerstone Financial Education, Mr. Barrero oversees the vision, direction, operation and mission of Cornerstone’s expansive financial education program and debt management program.
Mr. Barrero holds an Associates of Arts degree and several certifications for Financial Education & Counseling, Foreclosure & Loss Mitigation Counseling, and is co-author of Keeping the Cup Full: Financial Stewardship for Teens and Young Adults (2008, 2009) and Beating the Credit Game: Financial and Money Management for Teens and Young Adults (2008, 2009). Joseph resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Kim and their three children.

Min., PresidentDr. Canales earned a baccalaureate degree in International Relations and Geography from Florida International University (Miami, FL), a Master of Arts degree in Russian and Soviet Studies from University of Miami (Coral Gables, FL), a Master of Divinity degree from The Catholic University of America (Washington, DC), a Master of Arts in Liturgical Studies from the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN), and a Doctor of Ministry degree from The Catholic University of America (Washington, DC).
Dr. Canales has written for over twelve academic/scholarly publications and is co-author of Keeping the Cup Full: Financial Stewardship for Teens and Young Adults (2008, 2009) and Beating the Credit Game: Financial and Money Management for Teens and Young Adults (2008, 2009). Dr. Canales is a sought after keynote speaker and workshop presenter and has given workshops, seminars, and keynote presentations in over 20 Catholic dioceses around the country. He educates communities, organizations, and groups about spending habits, creating a budget, avoiding pitfalls of credit cards, and basic money management.
Dr. Canales is also an Associate Adjunct Professor of Theology at Saint Edward’s University (Austin, TX), and was also just nominated to the Board of Directors to Catholic Charities of Central Texas (Austin, TX). Art resides in Austin, Texas and with his two children.
John C. Daetwyler, J.D., Counsel & Corporate SecretaryMr. Daetwyler earned his baccalaureate degree in Philosophy and Psychology from Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) where he was graduated cum laude; and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law (Austin, TX). Mr. Daetwyler is also a member of the Texas Bar Association.
Mr. Daetwyler serves as counsel and corporate secretary for Cornerstone Financial Education. His duties include insuring corporate compliance with state and federal statutes and regulations, management of corporate personnel and legal records; as well as, acting as a liaison between various state and federal regulators and the company. John resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Jessica; and they have three children.
